It is the first day of November, that means we have the opportunity to vote in just a few days. Elections happen every year, but more attention is given to midterms and presidential elections. This year's midterms have once again broken funding and expenditure records.
I have always been registered as independent, as not caring to choose a certain side. Unfortunately, the divide between the Democrat and Republican party widens every year. Now, the Democrat party has gone so far to the left, radical liberal side of politics, I can no longer even consider a vote for any of there candidates. They might be slightly better on policies for persons with disabilities, but that's about it.
In all parts of life, I need to live as a Christian and follow God's will. That includes casting votes in any election. Since the Democrat party strongly supports, and wants to expand, abortion, transgender, defunding police, and other similar practices, no professing Christian should vote or support them.God says children are a gift, not to be sacrificed in the name of comfort or convenience. Mankind was also created as man and woman, boy or girl, with marriage between one man and one woman. Each gender compliments the other and supports each other, we are not to go with whatever we feel like. Finally, governments are given the power of the sword, or responsibility to enforce laws. Today, that is done through police and court systems throughout the country. The heart is deceitful and desperately wicked, and restraint is needed. It is sad to see the country come to these divides, but Jesus warned we would go from bad to worse.
Speaking of worse, we learned late on Thursday that my caregiver funding is changing yet again. Starting today, new regulations for hours begin. Instead of having one source of payment during a ten-hour shift, it now needs to be split 8 and 2. This means new paperwork was needed, and my caregivers will need to be taught the different requirements from each source.
Starting in January, further changes are coming that depend on when my family is available or not. It seems like just when one system starts going well, it gets overturned to add more regulations and less support.
Through uncertain future in government and funding, it can be easy to get anxious, stressed, and worried about what will come. After 41 years of dealing with issues in the quad life, it is hard to cope. Thankfully, in the same time period, God has repeatedly demonstrated His care and providing what we need in His timing. Whatever comes on any front, I will look to Him for guidance. I will wait to see what happens this week and month ahead.
